Staffordshire Police have arrested two men after officers seized a significant haul of cocaine and cannabis during proactive operations in Tamworth on Friday, February 6.

The arrests came as a result of targeted policing efforts aimed at disrupting drug supply in the area. Officers acting on intelligence or observations conducted the operation, leading to the discovery and recovery of a large quantity of Class A cocaine and Class B cannabis.

According to a statement from Staffordshire Police, "Two men have been arrested after we seized a large amount of cocaine and cannabis in Tamworth today (Friday 6 February)."

While specific details on the exact quantities seized, the street value, or the precise circumstances of the stop and search have not been fully released, the force described the haul as substantial, highlighting the success of proactive measures in tackling drug-related crime.

The two suspects, whose ages and names have not yet been publicly disclosed pending further investigation, remain in custody. They are believed to be facing charges related to possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

This incident underscores ongoing efforts by Staffordshire Police to combat drug dealing and associated criminality across the county, including in Tamworth. Similar operations in recent weeks have resulted in multiple arrests and seizures in the region, as part of broader initiatives to reduce the impact of drugs on local communities.

A police spokesperson emphasised the importance of community intelligence in such cases, encouraging residents to report any suspicions of drug activity anonymously via Crimestoppers or directly to the force.

The investigation is continuing, and further updates are expected as enquiries progress. No additional arrests or related incidents were reported in connection with this seizure at the time of publication.
