Staffordshire Police have arrested a 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman following the discovery of a significant amount of illegal drugs at a property in the village.
Officers from the South Staffordshire Local Policing Team executed a warrant at an address off Wolgarston Way shortly after 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 3, acting on intelligence received about potential drug supply activity.
During the search, police recovered approximately 200 snap bags of cannabis, along with suspected Class A drugs, canisters believed to contain nitrous oxide, and a quantity of cash. The items were seized and removed from circulation.
The 23-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, both residents of Penkridge, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. They remain in custody while inquiries continue.
South Staffordshire Local Policing Team commander, Lee Walker, commented on the operation: “We have been able to seize a large quantity of illegal substances and get them out of circulation in our county. I hope this demonstrates how we are determined to tackle the supply of drugs in our communities and we will continue to do all we can to get them off our streets.”
The arrests form part of Staffordshire Police's ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply networks and protect local communities from the harms associated with illegal substances, including the risks posed by substances like cannabis and nitrous oxide.
Anyone with information about drug-related activity in the area is encouraged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
