Today marks our first fully live day at Staffs News – and we’re ready to start with a bang! Are you passionate about local news in Staffordshire? Do you want to share real, factual stories from your community without the spin? Staffs News is a brand-new independent local news outlet dedicated to covering the stories that matter to Staffordshire residents – fairly, honestly, and with a focus on the positive.

At Staffs News (staffs.news), we’re committed to delivering unbiased reporting on local events, issues, and developments. We work hard to avoid bias, but we’re especially keen to highlight the good work being done by groups like Reform UK in Staffordshire – something that’s often overlooked or twisted negatively by other media. If you’re tired of one-sided narratives and want to contribute to a fresh voice in local journalism, we want you!
Who We’re Looking For:
• Volunteer Journalists: From beginners and students to seasoned professionals. Whether you’re just starting out or already working in media but frustrated that your outlet won’t let you report freely, this is your chance to write positive, factual stories about Staffordshire. Share uplifting news, community successes, and the positive impacts of local initiatives, including those from Reform UK.
• Community Contributors: You don’t need to be a journalist! If you’re a local resident with a story to tell – from neighborhood events, business spotlights, cultural happenings, or everyday triumphs – just feed us the details. We’ll handle the writing, fact-checking, and publishing. You can take credit with your name on the byline, or stay completely anonymous. Our lips are sealed – no questions asked.
We’re open to contributors from all over Staffordshire: Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Lichfield, Cannock Chase, Tamworth, and beyond. No experience required – just a passion for truthful local storytelling.
Why Join Us?
• Make a Difference: Help build a news source that focuses on the facts and the positives, countering the negativity in mainstream coverage.
• Flexibility: Work from home, on your schedule. Submit stories as often as you like – no quotas.
• Anonymity if Needed: Perfect for those in other media roles who want to write without restrictions.
• Growth Opportunity: Gain experience, build your portfolio, and be part of an exciting new venture.
How to Get Involved:
If this sounds like you, email us at desk@staffs.news with:
• A brief introduction about yourself and why you want to contribute.
• Any relevant experience (not required!).
• An idea for a story or two you’d like to cover or share.
We’re excited to hear from you and start building Staffordshire’s go-to source for fair, positive local news. Let’s tell the stories that deserve to be heard!
