Double Victory for Reform UK in Staffordshire

Reform UK has secured victories in two Staffordshire by-elections held on Thursday 25 June, winning seats in both East Staffordshire and Tamworth.

In Stretton, East Staffordshire, Jonathan Pyke was elected for Reform UK after polling 902 votes (37%), narrowly defeating the Conservative candidate by just 31 votes.

• 🩵 Reform UK – Jonathan Pyke: 902 (37%) ✅ Elected

• 🔵 Conservative – Bernard Geoffrey Peters: 871 (36%)

• 🔴 Labour – Shelagh Mary McKiernan: 448 (18%)

• 🟢 Green Party – Jack Mellor: 213 (9%)

A total of 2,434 votes were cast, with 4 ballot papers rejected.

In Wilnecote Ward, Tamworth, Tracey Lynne Dougherty was comfortably elected for Reform UK with 618 votes.

Turnout in Wilnecote was 19.62%, with 1,333 ballot papers issued and 2 rejected ballots.

Both results continue Reform UK’s strong performance in Staffordshire following the local elections earlier this year, adding another two council seats to the party’s representation across the county.
